i have a 96 grand prix 3.1. When i turn my wheel left or right i get this thumping noise in the front right strut area. I looked at it while someone was turning the wheel and it seems that where the bottom part of the spring sits it binds up and clunks when it turns. I dont know what would cause it or what to replace. I cant find any parts at autozone. I just replaced the strut cartidges a few months back and now this is starting up.

Re: front strut binding when turning
Ball joints binding? If you turn the wheel one direction while driving (ie making a 90 degree turn), when you return to center will your car now pull to that direction?

Re: front strut binding when turning
How many miles on car? Sounds like rubber mount pad under spring is worn badly or gone.
