I am trying to replace the alternator in my caravan. It is a 3.3L engine. I have removed the windshield wiper housing. The alternator is completely disconnected, but I can't figure out how to get this thing out! If I could remove the bracket that has the idler tensioner on it that would give enough clearance but I can only find three bolts holding this in place. This bracket still does not budge with these three bolts loose. I am beginning to wonder if I have to take the air intake plenum off to move it a couple inches to give enough clearance for this alternator. Yuk. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: 98 caravan alternator replacement
I would go to autozone website and register 9no charge), then go to their repair information link, they have both text and pictures for most jobs.
