Question Speed sensor

We just recently bought my daughter a 2000 Volkswagon Beetle. It runs great but, will shut off then we have to wait an hour or so before cranking it. It will turn over but not crank. We changed the coil pack but, that didn't work. We have had the codes checked and they show an O2 sensor and a speed control sensor. However, when we went to purchase the speed control sensor it says for AT transmissions this beetle has a standard transmission. I have tried to purchase this sensor online but, the only one I could find was for and automatic transmission also? Any suggestions does a standard transmission even have this sensor?

Re: Speed sensor

Yes, it has one. Here' a link for your speed sensor. http://www.vwdiscountparts.com/partl...5&model=Beetle Type in speed sensor.
If this is not your solution it may also be the fuel pump relay switch. It is fuse like and will malfunction when it gets hot, like after minutes of use. It relays power to your fuel pump and if its malfunctioning your vehicle will stop and will not start. It is just a $40 part or less and is somewhat easy to replace.
