1980 Caprice 350 small block **HELP**
Hi people, i have a 1980 caprice classic sedan that i'm fitting out with a 355 (+30 four bolt 350bhp) small block chev and a TH350 trans, my current rear end is something like a 2.41 ratio and is a 7.5 inch ten bolt aka, too crap for any HP! This has the passenger car lug nut pattern of 4.75" (4 & 3/4")
So I have a 1983 wagon with a 8.5 inch ten bolt, but this has the 5" lug nut pattern wheels. Can i swap front hubs and rear end onto the sedan with no fuss? So i can have 5" wheels all around. Whats involved, is it straight bolt on & off? Also what did the b body cop cars of 80-85 have wheel wise? 4 & 3/4" studs or 5"? Thanks, Max

You will need the spindles/calipers from the wagon. Then you should be good with the rest.

So i'll need to change the whole hub (caliper rotor etc) from the upper and lower ball joints? The A bars and steering rods are the same, Yeah?

Quote:
Steering knuckles = spindles.
