Welcome to AF.

Please you use proper punctuation when posting. I tried reading it but got annoyed trying to decipher what was being said. Please repost so we can help you out.

Also, what model are we talking about (turbo or non?).

And plesse use the correct sub forums. I moved this from the tech articles earlier.

If you just swapped the motor and not the tranny then their shouldn't be any issues. So you are getting fuel but no spark? Are you getting power to the coil?

Re: 97 standard with 99 automatic engine

hey sorry about the lousey spelling. I have a bad habbit of not sleeping an even worse not checking my puctuation. It is non turbo he kept the original trany from the 97 no power to the coil, have not been able to really work on the car or take a more detailed look into what was done yet. the guy showed up without his name on the title so im waiting on the one whos name is now on the tittle now so we can make the bill of sale official. the engine did run at one point when it was in the 99. It was turned and he ran it for a while before doing the engine swap. After he couldn't get it started again

Re: 97 standard with 99 automatic engine

oh and i havn't done the fuel system presure test yet but i have all the gauges and plan on doing so soon as i can on thursday. Do you think it could be the ecu i heard him mention something about the ecu being bad at one point talking on the phone, come to think of it he couldnt put the one from the 99 as he said the plugs were differnt hmmm.... would that keep it from getting power to the coil.
