suspension/braking

My '93 240 wagon feels like the body and chassis are held together with rope. New front end bushings, struts, tie rod ends, ball joints, etc.
Front end still clunks, rear end clunks, wanders all over the road, brakes (ABS?) grab at slow speeds, feels like the wheels are going to fold under the car at full lock and slow speed (parking lot stuff).

Yes, I need help. Perhaps lots of it. Anyway, can anyone help with info?
Unrelated-Oil was being forced out of the valve cover. Replaced flame trap (easily accessible between the manifold in spite of info indicating how difficult it was going to be. Flame trap was not really clogged but the small hose to the intake manifold sure was. Changed both hoses and flame trap. No nore oil leaking. (I used a 3/8" extension with a small worm drive hose clamp to limit travel and was easily able to install larger bottom flame trap hose. Spark plug boot pliers helped grip the hose way down and allowed me to push it on from the "bottom".

Anybody else ever had a mouse in their car? Maybe they are chewing on the rope.

Thanks, for any help

It should be fairly easy to make a 240 fast, there's several examples here in Norway that has both speed and looks. Remember, Volvo made some serious fast movers with the Group A racing 240's in the middle of the 80's. These cars was good for over 300 km/h with the right persuasion, and could be driven on the street. The sick part of the story isn't the speed, but the fact that these cars had a damn good quality and lasted very long even under hard abuse.
