crankshaft? Help!!

On a 1-10 ten being highest how hard is it to replace the crankshaft? My gfs mom has a car and she tells me that the crankshaft is bad. What would be the symptoms and around how much would it be to do manually and how much would it be to actually have it done?

Thanksss!

Re: crankshaft? Help!!

Well, I copied and pasted your question into my crystal ball and it went dark on me. I think because it didn't have enough info such as vehicle, motor, year, etc.

Anyway I got it back up and running again and it came up with a 90 to 95% certainty for engine removal for crankshaft replacement.

new crankshaft would require a new engine...if the crankshaft is worn the rest of the engine is scrap....
