1993 Plymouth Voyager LE Frt Wipers won't work??

1993 Plymouth Voyager Grand Caravan LE front wipers won't work.
Have replaced wiper pump, fuses, was told the is a wiper relay in the steering colum that has to be replaced. How in the world do you get into the steering colum without setting off the airbag, and where is it located exactly? HELP, PLEASE.........I cannot afford for a mechanic to repair this, I have to do it myself. Thanks anyone that has any knowledge of this issue. Shirley

Did you look under the hood along the firewall near the battery. I remember some vans had several relays under the hood. Some vans use the body control module for wiper motor. I have a pdf wiring diagram for your vehicle, I will try and pm it to you.

The schematic I'm looking at doesn't show a relay anywhere. Not sure I'd accept that as gospel as later model year schematics do show them, though not in the steering column. This schematic does show the BCM (mentioned previously)as a controling element. You can reset the BCM by either pulling the IOD fuse from the fuse box under the hood or disconnecting the negative battery lead for 2-3 minutes.

If it turns out you have to get in the steering column you can disable the airbags by disconnecting the battery and waiting 2 minutes before accessing the column. I'm glad you understand the airbags need to be disabled. Many don't understand that and a few have paid the price for ignoring it.
