Running rich!!!!!!!!!!
My 1994 wagon is running rich on both side according to the self check. I als failed an emission for NOX. I'm assuming it's time for new cats.

Re: Running rich!!!!!!!!!!
What is the fuel pressure? Is the EGR working properly?

Re: Running rich!!!!!!!!!!
If it's running rich, you need to fix that before replacing cats anyway. Rich exhaust causes the converters to run hotter than usual and could contribute to their deterioration.
Are you running OEM style spark plugs or trying some fancy spark plug? Many modern cars don't do well with non-OEM style plugs, and such a 'modification' could possibly contribute to your rich condition. Checking the fuel pressure as Way2Old suggested is a wonderful starting point. -Rod |
