brake "indicator" light
1995 Oldsmobile 88-- Brake "indicator" light stays on. Car runs fine and drives good, but light stays on like the parking brake is engaged. The brake is not engaged. Then after a minute of driving, the "dinging" begins and won't stop. I can take the fuse out and it stops, but that's not fixing the problem. Can anyone help?

Re: brake "indicator" light
On most cars, the light will come on if the parking brake is on (usually a switch on the brake arm), if there is air in the line or if fluid is low. First thing I would check would be fluid level. Next thing I would do would check for leaks. have someone pump the pedal a few times then push and hold the pedal. While they are doing this look underneath for any leaks. Also look at all the wheels. If the fluid is full, there are no leaks and the parking brake is not on, go ahead and check the switch with a meter.
