Any other vehicle seats fit IONs?

Tired of the easily stained, uncomfortable front seats. Other than the too expensive Redline seats do seats from other cars fit the ION like maybe the Chevy Cobalt?

Re: Any other vehicle seats fit IONs?

They tear easily, too. (Don't carry sharpie markers in your left rear pocket if you drive a Saturn Ion, it is pure carnage on the seat cover stitching)

Cobalt seats should fit, The unibodies are the same so the floor pan stamping should be identical. I'm not sure if you'd improve anything.

Summit racing carries a private label selection of seats that look pretty comfy. They carry Procar brand seats as well. Both have a load of mounting kits available and prices aren't any worse then what salvage yards charge for OEM seats.

Generically speaking, EVERYTHING fits if you have the motivation. With some steel flat bar stock and square tube, you can easily build whatever-to-ion adapters. If you have a welder, even a small hobby one, it's helpful, but self tapping screws can do the job assembling your seat adapters as well.

I don't find my seats to be uncomfortable, so I just protect the driver's seat with a cover. Mine is the type used by technicians to keep the crud they get on them under your car from getting IN your car when it's being driven out of the shop. It's black and red with a classy Snap-On tools logo. I get compliments on it all the time. And hey, it beats imitation wool or Navajo blanket looking seat covers from K-mart

74-79 Ramcharger or 100, slant or no motor - not interested in v8 - Overdrive 4 is a big plus, NO hopeless rust buckets!!!
3Rd gen F body floor pans/camaro door skin (L)

Why is it I see so many "Proud to be an American" bumper stickers on the backs of cars made in Japan or Korea??????

I don't know any GM engineers. Do you?
