Debating The Middle East....Futile?
Ive been reading most threads in Politics and realized. EVERYTHING is being turned into a debate on iraq. Its almost futile to debate because the pro-war people are going to belive that war is right, and the anti-war people will be anti-bush, or anti-civillians getting killed etc.
Another point is the Israelvs.Palestinian debate. Sure Israel has MANY black marks against it(this coming from a Jew and israel supporter), but people treat the Palestinians as if they can do no evil. I realize being in a small strip of land isnt the Ritz, but justifing suicide bombings is near impossible.
But whats the point. I had an arguement with someone today, and as usual, they ran out of good arguments and resorted to semantic games, and calling me a "fascit" and a "zio-nazi". Some other pro-israel kids heard him and ganged up on him and his friends, so I took the chance to walk a way.
Just wanted to express my views. I am still pro-war but it seems like its useless debating with some people.
They want peace, yet will beat you for their views....
