dakota with small emission leak code

This dakota comes up with a code and its for a small leak in the emission system could the exhaust leak cause this im not so sure?the leak is right after the 2nd O2 sensor...

It would depend on if the code is for the EGR system or the EVAP system. If it is for the EGR system an exhaust leak can cause this code. I wouldnt think that if the leak is after the last O2 sensor in the exhaust it wouldnt set a code, but i could be wrong. If the code is for the EVAP system the easiest way to find the leak is to smoke the system.

There is no exhaust leak monitor, just a lean/rich monitor there. The small leak could be due to a bad gas cap or the emissions hoses. My bet is that one of those hoses is dry and cracked. Check em all and replace as needed it is pretty common, they crack at the elbows.
