97 supercharged-PS pump pulley removal

I have searched and my eyes are crossed. I apologize now if there's already a thread for this. So, we're replacing the water pump and the last bolt is behind the pulley for the PS pump. Can we just lossen the pulley and get it out of the way, or do we have to remove the whole pump? If we have to, anyone know where I can find instructions? The Haynes book doesn't cover this engine....we found that out the hard way. Any help on this is much appreciated.

Re: 97 supercharged-PS pump pulley removal

It is best to jack up the right front side, place jack-stand under the H-frame & remove the tire and splash shield from the inner fender-well. Now you are ready to remove the two power steering pump-mounting bolts. (IIRC, they are 15mm socket size.) The bolts are mounted @ the 12 & 6 o’clock positions, so you will need to rotate the PS pulley until the bolts behind are accessible through the access holes in the PS pump pulley. Once you have it lined up, use a deep well socket to remove them and move the pump assembly to the back-side. (No need to remove hoses) You should now be able to remove the last water pump bolt. Good luck!
