02 Taurus

02 taurus 150k I'm unable to shift out of park after stepping on the brake pedal. I've noticed that the brake lights don't come on either. Its an intermittant problem. I'm figuring its the switch but it could be the wiring cause I've had to wiggle the wires at the switch to get it to work. Is the switch hard to replace and any special tools to replace it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Seems like someone just addressed this last week. There should be plenty of information on the forum, please try using the "Search this forum" feature.

Re: 02 Taurus

I had to go back 6 months to find a similar post. Different problem though. I can't move the shifter out of park. So is there anyone else who can help me.

Re: 02 Taurus

Geesh, seems very similar to this thread from last week, different year, but same symptoms.
