Clock LED dimming out.
'97 TP, 3.4L, 145k miles, AM/FM Cassette, CD at bottom of console, clock/radio station fading out and lights up periodically; is there something in the fuse box? Is there a dimmer switch?
thanks. |

Re: Clock LED dimming out.
This seems to be a common problem for a lot of people.
On my '98, mine was completely out for awhile, until I gave it a good tap at the top of the screen and it worked. Still have to do it every once in awhile. Some sort of wire behind the screen has a loose connection. |

Those are vacuum fluorescent displays I believe.

Re: Clock LED dimming out.
I think it might be a battery surge idea, or it could be as simple as it dims when you have your headlights on. brightens up when off.

Re: Clock LED dimming out.
Turned out to be the backlight bulb in the radio, fairly easy fix, just be careful when you put the front plate back on to the radio. I bought the bulb from Radio Shack, $1.80 for 2.
