1991 olds 98 delay in the acceleration

i have an 1991 Oldsmobile 98
when i hit the gas it kinda putters for a tiny sec then it feels and sounds like its gonna die and then it just goes after the delay it cant be good for the car i wouldn't think and its really bothering me
i have know clue what that would even be
please help me out

you might want to check your coil. I had something similar on my 89 olds, where acceleration would be sputtery (is that a word?). Coil replacement fixed that.
