help with my 96 civic

ok i just recently got a 96 civic & i dont know much about it. it has b16a2 stamped on the block but it is SOHC but vtec. someone told me that the head looked like it was off of a d16a6. im just really confused cause a b16a2 only comes in a DOHC right? can anybody help me?

Yeah, the B16A2 is a DOHC engine. Got any pics of the engine, and a pic of the engine code stamped on the block?

thanks for the info. the guy that had it b4 me had told me it had b16 stamped on it but i looked at it today & it is a d16y7, i have DC headers on it & an AEM cold air intake. would this motor be good to work with to get more horsepower or would i be better off goin with a swap??

If you're will to build it for boost, then it would be worth keeping. Otherwise, you should swap it if you want more power.
