Exclamation 06 SS engine light

Just recently the engine light on my 06 impala ss has come on..it only comes on when the tank isn;t full and the dash reads " tighten gas cap" i have bought a new gas cap and it is tight..i used a snap on scanner to read the codes and it says to use a smoke machine in the evap system to check for leaks...obviously only a dealer has this tool...it is an 06 just turned 40,000 miles, anyone have any info on this or know if the dealer will cover the evap system for 5 years possibly???? help

Re: 06 SS engine light

Evap is considered part of the emissions control system I think, which means they are required to cover it for a pretty long time, not sure how long though. Anyone know for sure?
