Is it possible to replace connecting rod bearings on 2.4l w/out removing engine!?
Is it possible to remove and replace the connecting rod bearings on 2.4l engine w/out removing engine!? Perhaps by removing the oil pan to gain access to them!?

Re: Is it possible to replace connecting rod bearings on 2.4l w/out removing engine!?
If you can remove the oil pan with the engine in the vehicle, you should be able to replace the con rod bearings. The manuals say the pan can be removed.
You can get a set of main and rod bearings for about $150, or a complete reground crank kit for about $200. Replacing the crank would be a lot more work, requiring the transmission to be separated and supported.
