alarm going off on 05 Explorer

The alarm keeps going off by it's self on my Explorer. I can turn it off with the remote and it will shut down by it's self after a few minutes. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: alarm going off on 05 Explorer

Welcome to the forum!

Do your interior lights work correctly with your door, or do they act goofy as well? You might have a problem with a stuck door pin switch, and the alarm may think the door is open when it is not, setting off the alarm. There have been a fair number of posts on the door pin switches, try searching the forum to see if others have had similar experiences.

I had an 01 mountaineer with the same issue. Posted on here as a matter of fact and someone suggested the car battery. Just under a week later went to start my truck and it wouldnt turn over. Got it jumped went to autozone and had the battery tested and it was no good. Bought a new one (not at autozone) and didnt have a problem after that. It's got something to do with the voltage of the battery fluctuating and setting off the alarm.
