Car bogs teribbly after intake and timing cover job?
Hey guys I have a 96 Grand Am with the 3.1L with 187,000 M on it.
I just replaced the Timing Cover gasket due to a really bad anti-freeze leak. I also did the intake gaskets. Everything back together and go to start and it took a bit to get an idle as you know after a big job like that. So I get a nice clean idle out of it for about 3 mins and it starts to bog on and off and the motor started moving back and forth a lot. Boged like that for about 1 min and then stalls. Go to restart it and it just bogs like before and stalls. Any ideas?

Yeah the timing is right as follows.
5 6 3 4 1 2 Front of motor OBD 2 Told me that it was Multiple Cylinder Misfire. I'm stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Funny you should say that i had a tow in today for an idling issue after the customer had played with it , turns out the guy had put the egr on backwards |

FullyAvenged,
You're a good man for coming back and admitting what happened! I read this thread last night, and thought about it once in a while and was going to come back here and post something about the car getting the wrong fuel/air mix once it warmed up (temp sensor, that kind of thing). I guess it really was getting the wrong fuel/air mix. Way too much air! |
