Re: Bigger better faster....help me please

Part Stores are a good place to start. Some have kits to upgrade the engine and come with new cams with all bearings. A machine shop can bore anything out. K&N has cold air intakes to increase hp also. I would start with the simple stuff as far as add-ons and see where you get. Do some research on the net, and get to know some people in your area that are willing to help you learn. Saturday and Sunday mornings on Spike TV there are a group of shows called the Powerblock. These shows show the do-it-yourselfer how to do different things with their vehicles. Also, some mustangs have the 5.0L, so the possibilities are endless. I own a 96 with the same engine you have, by the way. I just installed a new jasper engine this past april, and did it all myself. I have no certifications in the auto industry, and the only thing I take my vehicles to a shop for is to have tires mounted on the rims. This is only because I don't have the tools that will do it!

Have fun and learn! Good luck!

Not to rain on anyone's parade but... if you take horsepower increases too far you will end up breaking everything behind the engine.

You may be better off just replacing the 302 with a 351.
