97 aurora can't open front doors from the outside

I have just purchased this 97' aurora with the passenger door not able to open from the outside, but the driver side i was able to open, but with in a couple days guess what! i wasn't able to open the drivers door from the outside but can from the inside, so i took the skin off the door from the inside and noticed the linkage looked ok, now im puzzled and is there anyone out there who has ran into this problem before.

Re: 97 aurora can't open front doors from the outside

My passenger side was doing this once in a while and found out it was the locking mechanism not unlocking 100% -- even though it sounded like it was unlocking with the remote. And even when unlocking with the manual lever. It wasn't actually unlocking completely.

After playing with the manual lever while someone on the outside, I found that giving the unlocking lever some extra muscle with my thumb towards the unlock finally unlocked the damn door. It almost felt like I was going to break it!

So I found a way to grease up(WD-40) the unlocking mechanism and it happens much less frequently. Good luck...
