Misfire please help
Hello I'm new to the site. I'm having a problem with my 99 firebird 3.8. I have a P0306 code for a cylinder 6 misfire. I did plugs and wires and now it seems to be running worse, but still only pulling a #6 misfire. I was thinking of changing the coil next any suggestions??
thanks Eric |

Re: Misfire please help
swap the coil with one of the others and see if the misfire changes to another cylinder.

Re: Misfire please help
I had a problem like this, but it mostly skipped when it got hot and it was the plug wires breaking down because #6 gets so hot. Try getting good plug wires and some asbestos socks to cover the wires and boot at the plug end of the wire. That fixed it for me.

Re: Misfire please help
Thanks but I figured it out I had a bad coil. Changed that out and it ran like brand new again.

Re: Misfire please help
I had the same issue and it was my ignition control module. After replacing it runs great!
