4L60e OR 4L80e?

Going to throw a new filter in my trans. ( '02 Silv. 1500HD Crew Cab 6.0L ) Wondering which trans. would my truck have? I know the 2500's have the 80's in 'em. Would this have the 80 in it because of the 6.0L. Are they tagged somewhere on the trans. housing? My parts man tells me the filters are different.

Thanks..

They also come with deep and reg pans.

Shape of pan will ID what transmission.
Measure pan height for reg or deep pan.
Dealer can run you VIN no. for right filter and transmission
Always match old filter with new one on shape and neck height.
Most come with a hard rubber reusable pan gasket if so reuse it.
And take care removing and installing pan that you do not knock off solenoid plug in in back.
