question about engine swaps
i was wondering if it is possible to swap out a 420a to a 4g63 engine or maybe a v6 from a 2000+ eclipse...
is it done often? or is it going to cost more then its worth? |

Re: question about engine swaps
Simply put, Not possible. Way too much money in custom fabrication, custom wiring, custom everything.
This question has been answered a million times before. Please search. Thanks.

Re: question about engine swaps
sorry, i did search for a thread that could answer my questions but i never came around to finding one, thanks for the reply though.
one last question, i'm thinking about dropping some serious money into this car, but from what i understand turbo charging a 420a is really expensive, and from what i gathered about previous forums that i have been reading it almost seems like people don't suggest it, and from what you told me so far its not worth doing the engine swap. so would it just be better to save time to go out and buy a better car, (i was thinking of the evo VIII series), i guess i just looking for some guidance from people who have all ready been there and done that. thanks |

EDIT: Just did a search for "420a swap" and got 5 posts about that. One of them had the same follow up question that you did also.

Re: question about engine swaps
It does cost a good bit of money and then to make much over 200whp you need to build the motor also. All of this work would cost a couple g's but in the end you could have a good set up and the limit is pretty much endless. If you take the price of an EVO it would be cheaper to turbo your car then buy an EVO and you would have more power. But it will be a higher maintanence car also. Its really up to you.
If you do turbo your car go all out the first time. It will cost more but in the long run you wont be upgrading parts again.

Re: question about engine swaps
you should just get the 4g63t put the 16g Evo 3 turbo kit and swap the motor drivetrain, turbo and put it in a 95 Mirage and there ya go.
