Future Floor Wax - User testimonial! :D

I've got some nice pictures of the shine that I was able to achieve airbrushing Future Floor Wax as a clearcoat over Testors Model Master Acryl paint. Its really fustrating to use as I wasn't able to wetsand without dissolving the future. But in the end, its amazing what $6.99 for 750mL of Future can do!

Very impressive.

I have future, but no airbrush. So I can only use it to shine up little parts. Aparently you can use on bodies if you apply it with a brush **shudder** as it is highly self levelling, but the thought of it still creeps me out. I may try it on a test body I have lying around... In the meantime, I'll just spray Tamiya Clearcoat...

Why couldn't you wetsand it? I highly doubt it's water soluble after drying, considering it would be used on household floors...

Future tends to peel up and die after you sand it or anything, plus judging by the shine there would be no need. Plus, it goes on really thin, so one or two passes of the sandpaper would take it all off!

There are many cases of it hazing after being wetsanded or polished. Since it is self-leveling you can expect minimal orangepeel and easy removal with windex.

As an avid user of Future for years I can say it is best to to let it alone after application. Also with practice it can be wiped on, just do a section of the car at a time. I sometimes hold it under a lamp(100 watt bulb) as the heat helps it level even better. I usually polish the decals with wax before applying Future.

Can you apply Future generously on decals without damaging them?

OMG. I was just going to write a thread about how i can't get it to look right. I've used future on my current model and i always get orange peel. ALWAYS.

I never get orange peel when im spraying with Tamiya Acrylic so i dont know what im doing wrong. I've sanded the body with P2000 but i can't get rid of the orange peel and i've gone through a lot of the Future coat because i see small specks of paint. I dont know what to do.

Would it work if i just set the model down and poured the future onto it and let it dry that way ?

Help me out guys, im desperate. A beautyful paint job will go bad

Your spraying it on too light, hold the gun close to the model, and god, dont pour it on your model, I just tried it out, and its awesome, its just that i have alot a crap in my air so it doesent look like glass but very nice.

It may be under a different name over there. Look for a clear acrylic floor "wax" made by Johnson and Johnson...that should be it.

It's called Klear here in New Zealand so i guess it's using the same name in Aussie. Should be able to find it easily from any supermarket
