Unhappy 2005 Caravan power sliding door problems

Please help! I have a 2005 Grand Caravan and the driver and passenger power sliding doors open and close on their own! This happens whether or not the key is in the ignition. I first noticed this when I looked out my window at work and saw the doors opening and closing! I stopped this by taking the fuse out so I have to open them manually but would love to be able to take advantage of that feature. My power locks are also locking and unlocking on their own. Please help!

Re: 2005 Caravan power sliding door problems

The Body Control Module (BCM) controls nearly all of the electronics on the van, including the door locks and power doors, and are known to go spastic at times. You can try resetting the BCM by pulling the IOD fuse in the Integrated Power Module (IPM) for 2-3 minutes. IPM is Chrysler cryptic for fuse/relay panel and is next to the battery. If that doesn't do it you may need to have the BCM reprogrammed. If you wind up needing a new one it will cost $500-$800 at the dealer but $300-$500 elsewhere. Make sure your battery is fully charged. The electronics on these vans are sensative to low current and power surges.

Re: 2005 Caravan power sliding door problems

-your first reply was an accurate one
-there is technical servicr bulletin out on your model for power sliding door and power lock problems relative to your situation..
-usually fixed by downdloading proper software into you bcm which controls all of the abovel...
-the service bulletin number is 23-020-07 rev.a pertaining to the above issue..
-that should be all the bullets you need to go to the dealer and have this problem corrected being that it is a known issue...

That bulletin is only for vehicles that have a door that won't open/close when you push the button.
