GTS Rotors

It's time to replace the Brembo rotors on our GTS 40 car. I'm having a difficult time matching up the rotors with the Brembo catalog, did they change part numbers?

Suggestions as to where to find rotors, I show part # 09.7639.

Thanks

Re: GTS Rotors

Are you sure the rotors aren't PFC?

Re: GTS Rotors

The GTS uses Brembo and yes they changed the front rotors to a new model and style. Call Panoz, best price in town and keeping them in business to continue to support us!

Re: GTS Rotors

Only the GTRA cars use the PFS rotors.

Panoz updated the GTS rotors last year to a more common "Nascar" style (at least that's what they told me) and you have to replace the hats etc. I think the old hubs work, but ask them. You can order them from Panoz.

Re: GTS Rotors

Brandon can help as well. Is this rotor style / model change more cost effective?

I was told the previous brembo rotor/hat pkg. was discontinued by brembo.

Re: GTS Rotors

I have a call into Panoz and will report back my findings. Another question, has anyone gone to a wider rim and needed to change our their wheel lugs? I've gone to a 9.5 BBS rim with Michelin Slicks and found that the 3" wheel lugs are too short when used with a wheel spacer. Any sources for 1/2" by 4" lugs with a .563 knurl?

Re: GTS Rotors

Josh from Panoz just quoted the following prices for new hats and rotors to fit the GTS cars.

Rotors $358/each, Hats/each $231, plus about $100. in fasteners, washers and nuts.

Not cheap.

Re: GTS Rotors

HA! That's funny, I thought you just said it would cost $700 to replace a rotor. Good one.

That's right, roughly $700 each side

Re: GTS Rotors

Carhauler,

If you are running 18" wheels, you do not need to use the spacers. Only needed on the 17" fron wheels.

Because of the wheel offset, 18's being more offset?

It all depends on the wheels. The reason the spacer was used was to enable the same rim 17's and 18's (this is back when they ran the same tire all the way around) to be able to mount front or rear. When I made my 18's (we went to 18's before Panoz did and we worked with Joel Grewett but he was still fighting things out with SCCA so he didnt have a true spec yet), that I got from CCW, I continued to use the spacers. We originally went with 18x10's and 18x12's and we kept the spacer because Joel was telling us we might have to use 18x10's all the way around. So our rims needed the spacer to work on any corner. We since bailed on that but still use the spacer. Wider track cant hurt (i dont think so anyway).
