Hard to Get my 4l shifter into gear?
i got a 1993 f150 4x4 4.9l 5spd. i am having troubles getting my truck into 4L. i can get it to go into 2H and 4H good but when i go to put it into 4L i have trouble. i am pushing the shifter twords the ground and pulling back. im new to the truck. i have gotten it into 4L a couple of times by using both hands and pushing down and pulling back but now this time it doesnt work. does any one know how to get it into 4L easier? my friend has the same thing and his goes in easy, my other friend had trouble getting it into 4L on his cousins truck and kicked at it and snapped the bracket off.

Take a look at the shift linkage. It may need adjusted. If that is not the problem, then check the shift fork located in rhe transfer case.

i have noticed on their is a spring that should be pushed down when i push on the shifter and mine dont have no spring. any1 have any ideas?
