2002 blower fan question
Hello everyone.
I have an 02 Cavalier, just got it and i noticed that my blower fan only blows on the 3rd and 4th setting. The first two speeds i have nothing. Is this a switch problem or something a little more vague. The last car i had (not cavalier) it only blew on high, and i know that was a resistor problem, but because this one has 2 speeds working, would it be dirt possibly in the contacts. or a bad switch. etc....... Thanks in advance. |

Re: 2002 blower fan question
EDIT - So it is my resistor.. after doing some research, i guess MANY people have the trouble of 2 last speeds working. They all say its resistor..
But now my question is, what caused it to blow. Is my blower fan drawing too many amps making it blow. I don't want to replace my resistor just for it to repeat itself. |

Re: 2002 blower fan question
Very common problem-- first design was not very good-second design seems to work-- I can tell you that I have never had to replace a resistor the second time- and I have replaced probably 50 or more in the last ten years on various GM models.

Re: 2002 blower fan question
I have a 2000 and I had to replace mine 3 years ago. Same thing ,only the 2 high settings worked. I agree it's a bad design, the blower motor resistor board is in with the blower fan and I found my old board was corroded.
