unlock my doors

My remote will not open my doors on my 1997 Grand prix I replaced the battery did the hold two button thing (open and close ) for 7 seconds but still nothing can any buddy help

Have you tried unlocking the doors with the door switch to be sure the power locks are functioning properly?

Have you tried another keyfob or tried fully reprogramming your existing one. The tech tip is posted at our Tips & Maintenance subforum.

Also, you can open up the keyfob and try cleaning the rubber membrane and getting the old crud out.
