is there a online illustration on removing and installing front struts?

read up on the different problems we have had on the strut/ strut plates. Use only a GM or KYB mount/ bearing plate and most of us here would recommend the KYB GR 2 struts. You can find them cheap from some of the performance sites.

Cheaper is not better and you get what you pay for. But the KYB Excel G/GR2 or the OE GM struts are the best bet based on my experiences. The problem I have with the cheaper aftermarkets like the Monroes or Gabriels is they do not last or you get issues with the upper strut mounts after installation. You will be lucky to get 40K miles out of them. At least you can get 70K miles or better out of the GM struts.
