Was thinking about putting in a serpentine belt setup for my 74 Nova(350).Will there be a noticable difference in horsepower?

I don't think switching to a serpentine system will do anything for horsepower . I think the reason auto makers did this was to decrease the bulkiness of the accessory drives for clearance under the hood especially for the FWD cars . Then you have to think of the cost of doing this ? It's more of a cosmetic thing than a performance thing . Just my $0.02 !

Re: is it worth putting in serpentine system?
worth it? i think so, i didnt want to run the risk of a v belt jumping off and me running hot or something so i installed a serpintine setup out of a 1990 model silverado and it works great, no clearence issues etc, you want some power out of the deal go with an electric fan instead of a clutch and underdrive pullleys, btw if you do this your water pump wont work, a serpentine belt water pump spins the opposite way so get one that is stock for that model year system. the belt will last longer too.
