'92 Taurus Door Ajar Light Problem
The door ajar light seems to come on with all doors closed . I replaced the pin switch on the driver's door jamb and everthing seemed alright for awhile. It seems now when the passenger door is opened and closed this seems to bring it on again.
I guess I'll try another switch on the passenger door jamb. I got several of these for nothing at a junk yard and just trying the process of elimination within reason here. Has anybody found what usually causes this problem. Thanks |

Re: '92 Taurus Door Ajar Light Problem
Like all mechanical switches, they are rated for a certain number of cycles. Fatigue and dusty environments cause the failures. That's a lot of the reason a cleaning and application of a switch lubricant spray (not WD40) can extend the life of these switches some. The switches obviously are not completely sealed.
