Do you have power to the switch?

I don't know if there is power to the switch, I can't find it. Olds built this area like Fort Knox - all sorts of padding, brackets, and shields. The switch is not readily visible. Do you have a diagram of where the switch is? Which fuse supplies power to this circuit? Neither the fuse block designation nor the owners manual specifies which fuse supplies the glove box light. Thanks for your help!! Sincerely, Dave.

My source doesn't say exactly either- try fuse number 11 a 15 amp- same circuit as cigarette lighter, and power antenna- do those work?

Re: 1993 98 glove box lamp wiring diagram needed

Thanks for your reply!! Yes, the cigarette lighter and the power antenna both operate. The courtesy lamps operate also. Basically, this is the only thing that does NOT work on the car. I will look at it again this weekend (no time today or Friday) and I will post results. If anyone has more suggestions, please post them - I appreciate all the help I can get! Sincerely, Dave.

Re: 1993 98 glove box lamp wiring diagram needed

Problem solved!! Valuable lesson - know how something works before you condemn it!! Apparently, the glovebox lamp is only supposed to illuminate when the glovebox is open with the key in RUN. It will not illuminate like most other vehicles by just opening the glovebox, even with no key in the ignition.
