97 Accord CV shaft (drivers side)
Please Help!!
![]() I have a 97 Accord 4 door dx manual not vtech not anti-lock brakes. I need to replace the cv shaft. I have replaced the right side without any problems. It actually went very easy. The drivers side is a different story. The problem is the far end of the cv shaft will not pull out of the "knuckle". It does not go directly into the trans. but instead is connected by another shaft. I have tried prying and pulling, hitting and it has only moved a little bit "maybe 1/4". So, why won't it come right out? Is it because it is not lubed like the other side? Do I also have to replace the shaft that goes into the trans? Thank you for your help! |

Re: 97 Accord CV shaft (drivers side)
Well I got it out and fixed.
I pulled the entire cv shaft, bearing and additional short shaft going into trans. When I took it out it took a good few wacks to get it separated but it worked. |
