95 Villager Idles fine in park runs rough in drive

Sometimes going down the road it will smooth out and run fine but if I am at a stop light it idles rough. It never dies though.
The mechanic told me the vacuum was good and no codes came on. I had mentioned the fuel pump because in the summer months it takes a few times turning the key to get it to start, oddly enough it does not do this in the cold weather. He said pressure was good at idle and only dropped a little when put in gear.
Any help would be appreciated as it is the wifes baby hauler.

How many miles on vehicle?

When have the cap, rotor, wires and plugs been changed or checked?

Check EGR vlave and BPT hose for leaks. Could also be a blocked vacuum passage way in the plenium. Have you cleaned the throotle body lately?

Have you checked the fuel pressure regulator for fuel in the vacuum line or if the pressure increases with vacuum line off?

Have you checked the oxygen sensor, try disconnecting when engine is warm to see if that makes a difference.

Gio to the free online service manuals and look up the FSM for your vehicle that will also be helpful.

170,000 miles. Plugs and wires changed 2 years ago or 20k miles ago.
Cap and rotor have not been checked by me and I do not know if the mechanic checked these or the other things you mentioned. I will ask him Monday.
I forgot to say in my earlier post that this happened last year. My wife said she barely made it home one Friday night so the next morning I took it for a ride and it never missed a beat until recently. I know these things do not just fix themselves but I thought this might help in assessment.
Thanks for the response tempfixit.

Have you noticed a change in gas mileage??

Have you added any fuel injector cleaner?

Has the fuel filter been changed lately.

Re: 95 Villager Idles fine in park runs rough in drive

Gas mileage has went down.
My wife thought I used a fuel injector cleaner last year after it acted up.
No, I have not changed fuel filters. It has been so long since I have had a fuel filter go bad I can not remember. Will the engine idle perfectly normal in park with a bad one? The other symptoms do resemble a bad fuel filter or plugs/wires fouling but they have been changed of course.
Man, that would be a cheap fix!
