Key in alarm

If the key in alarm is going off while driving down the road is that the door jam switch or something else? When the vehicle is off and the key is out it quits.

Re: Key in alarm

I am thinking that the dome lights should be on as well though and they are not. It just gives off that same sound while the car is running. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Key in alarm

Does the pin in the switch look damaged in any way, look on both sides one of the switches are bad or bent if your dome light isn't coming on. start there.

The light does come on when the door is opened but it is not on while the car is going down the road but it is still making the noise going down the road.

Re: Key in alarm

My service notes are below- so if ignition is "ON" it should not be chiming even if door is open....

The chime sounds if all of the following conditions exist:

• The key is in the ignition switch.

• The ignition switch is in one of the following positions:

- ACC

- LOCK

- OFF

• The LH front door is open

Re: Key in alarm

That is my problem. It shouldn't be chiming but it is while the auto is running and the doors are closed. Any thoughts please?
