One less EF9 in the world, my car just got totaled.

Yip thats about all there is to it.

Some poor women whos only been in the country for a month and speaks no english turned right infrount of me, plowed into my drivers door, and spun me into a traffic light post, I was traveling at 70kph when she hit my, so the car is to put it as subtly as I can completly fucked.

The accident was totaly her fault, and I have witness and a police report to show it, so hopefully the insurance companys wont be to much of a hassel. I have full insurance, she claims to have 3rd party, but didnt know who with. All I have to do is convince then to pay the value of the car, and not what they think its worth.

Im physicaly OK, a big bruise on my leg, and small cut on a finger, but the car is split open in the left hand side, and if anyone had been sitting the back where it hit the pole they would be dead or close to it. Having the sunroof and drivers window open certianly helped, the only glass left in the car was the frount and rear window, the rest was either all over me, or spread down the road. (im still picking it out of hair) If the sunroof and window were closed I would be much worse off in terms of cuts etc.

The car is a totaly write off, the drivers door, sill and back quater are stoved in aobut 6inchs where she hit me.
And the left hand side is stoved in about 12 inchs at the back seat in the shape of a pole, it spit the sill open. The rest of that side of the car is then stoved accordingly, the roof is bent, so is the floor, and the rear wheel has about 45deg of toe in.
It split the fuel tank open, which caused a lot of worry, fire brigade was called, and the towie wouldn't take it away till they showed up and gave the OK.
The car folding up and being destroyed is what saved me. A heavier car would have transfered more of the impact to me, and I might be sitting here with whiplash etc.
I also let go and forced myself to relax when i saw the pole coming, which also helped.
Although I cant help thinking now that if I had my old Triumph if it would have simply shoved her little honda aside and not even been moved off course.

Im somewhere between being very pissed off at losing what was a rare and very enjoyable car to drive, being happy that no one was hurt, knowing that there are no what ifs and whats happened has happened, and of course knowing that it was just a car and I can buy another one. Its what being a comsumeristic society is all about. (and you thought I was going to write all of that and not put something philosophical in!)

So heres to Honda Civic, EF9 SiR, YJ6718.

I think I will have my car blessed by a Priest, Rabbi, Buddhist Monk, etc... all to keep these evils away from it.

Sorry to hear that Moppie. I know you loved your baby very much. I see there is a Civic curse on AF as well. I suffered dammage last January b/c of the AF G20/Primera curse. We're all just glad you're okay. Just make sure when you get a new car that you leave AF so as to keep the curse away.
