Buying New Car With 10k To Spend

So I am looking to a get a car, as my other one broke down and it's not worth putting money into. I am REALLY looking at Cobalts slightly used as they are quite cheap. I like them, but they just look so cheaply made, are they a reliable car? Also do you have any suggestions? I was looking at Civics. I really want something that looks nice, but isn't going to kill my insurance. I want to get something with less than 80k miles if possible(i know I can with a Cobalt), but yeah any suggestions. I saw a few Mazda 3's that look awesome but they are around 12k.

Question Re: Buying New Car With 10k To Spend

Ricerkid15 , I assume by your forum name that you're limiting your choices to small compact cars ? I don't mean that as an insult . Honda's are great but expensive ! Cobalts are good as are many other small cars . You might try looking at a slightly larger car as the prices on the " tuner - type " cars are often inflated . The cars I'm talking about are generally safer because of their larger size , cheaper because of more realistic prices , and usually cheaper to insure as well . I won't try to advise you on exactly which to choose , just saying you may have more choices than you think . Good luck and let us know what you eventually choose !

Re: Buying New Car With 10k To Spend

Well I think the Cobalt is out of the question. I just realized how much choice there really is. I am looking now at Mazda 3 and 6, Volvo S40,S60,S80, Hyundai Tiburon, Toyota Celica basically. I am increasing my cap to around 12grand now.
