1989 3.3 Eng. Tach Fliped From Left to Right Side
I left the ignition turned on for two days and run the battery completly down. After recharging the battery, as soon as I turned the ignition to ON, the Tach needle fliped from zero to 7000. It fliped from the left side to the right side and just lays there. Any suggestions will be appreciated. JP [email protected]

Welcome to AF !
Have you tried tapping on the cluster ? Might have to remove the ICP and try to move it manualy. ![]() Could also just be broken and need replaced or install an after market tach.

Re: 1989 3.3 Eng. Tach Fliped From Left to Right Side
So long as theres nothing holding the tach there, you could easily just take a magnet up to it and kind of move it around on the clear plastic there, you'll soon find you can just flip the tach back over to 0 and, hopefully it wont spike when you turn the car on, if it does in that case. possible short, or just some bad parts

Dont know if that'll work XGamesJ6, pretty sure the needles are plastic.

the needles are plastic, but whatever it is that moves the needles aren't, they react to magnets, i've done it in my car once, by mistake, i set a magnet down, and it caused my MPH to spike to 120, by using the magnet i was able to flip it back to zero

Re: 1989 3.3 Eng. Tach Fliped From Left to Right Side
yup, its a whole lot easier then pulling out the cluster, then removing the clear plastic and manually moving it, then having to replace everything, a magnet does the trick!

Re: 1989 3.3 Eng. Tach Fliped From Left to Right Side
Although not as easy as the magnet, when I had the cluster out I found that I could slide some of the small nylon banding or strapping under the lens. I was then able to catch the needle & flip it back over. It worked very well for me, but the magnet would be much easier, FWIW.
