Toyota Gt-One

After the Porsche its time for something else... The Tamiya Toyota Gt-One. Always loved the body and color combo. Got some zero white and red laying around that would be perfect for this build ... Planning on adding some extra detail, Pe seatbelt, some wires on the engine, will see how far will go. Anyway, enough talking, pics:

(had to ask permission on the furrball to bild this one )

Cant wait to get some paint on that body...

Greetings,

Jurgen

Re: Toyota Gt-One

Small update, wanted to see how big it would be so placed the major body parts... Recieved the firts coat of primer:

To let you see how flat this car is, i've placed the astra with it to let you compare...

Re: Toyota Gt-One

It's weekend so had some time to build on the toyota...
Tires sanded (macro seems a bit overdone but in real they are perfect):

Added som tire markings. Normally there should be michelin transfers on the tires but since i only have a bridgestone template for aibrush i've used this one. On the car should be decals for michelin but i have some bridgestone decals laying around in the spare parts box
Also first time that i painted brakedics metallic blue:

Engine time... Once in place there will be added extra wires.
Tamiya chrome didnt show visible flaws so i left them as they were. Pic shows original part and weathered part:

Engine pics:

With exhausts:

With brake discs:

Greetz and enjoy

The tires look realistic and you also did a nice job on the engine.

Re: Toyota Gt-One

Excellent progress on this build. Your detail painting and weathering is well done. The red wires on top of the engine, are they painted or did you add them?

They are painted... They are molded in to the chrome part.

I'm pretty sure on one side is blue and on the other one is red, that's why I asked.

I'll have to take care not to follow the instructions when I'll build mine.

Re: Toyota Gt-One

Wow, you seem to have a lot of free time on your hands. No, I am not jealous...

Your build seems to progress very well.
I like the tires very much. They look very convincing. As does the engine. Great paintjob there.

Oh. And a beautiful cat you have. I don't let our cats come close to any of my models though...
