Please please help! TV cable issue's with 700R4

Ok, I've got a 1988 monte carlo SS, 350 all stock, I just put in a 700R4 transmission(30 spline count), the old transmission was a 200R4, I'm using the old TV(Throttle valve) cable, and something is terribly wrong.

When i put the car in gear, it feels like i have to give it way to much gas for it to start moving, My tac doesn't work but im estimating either very close to, or above 4 thousand on the tac. I noticed the retainer bracket for the TV cable on the intake manifold was lose so i tightened it down, and the transmission gives alittle more response than previously but i still have to give it allot of gas to get it moving, once its moving i seems fine, and if you just put the pedal down and rough it alittle it moves with only alittle hesitation, but there is definitely a problem, and I'm in a really tight situation so someone PLEASE help me out here.

UPDATE: Ok so i just learned that the TV cable for my trans also controls transmission pressure, And that beeter fits the description of whats going on, it feels like its taking along time and about 4 on the tac to get this trans up to the right pressure.

If i can't fix the problem by the end of next week, i have to scrap the car, and pack whatever i can fit into a backpack and hitchike back to PA :/
