94 ford f150 shifter
I had some play in my shifter from side to side so I took it off and tried to reinstall it back into the transmission and now i cant get it out of gear can anyone help

ill assume its a manual trans.take shifter out & manually shift trans into neutral.reinstall shifter in neutral position.hope this helps.Good Luck
