98 voyger - location of brake adjuster
Ok.. I'm working on a 98 Voyager with rear drums.
I can not seem to figure out where the adjuster wheel is to back off the rear rear pads. It feels like the emergency brake cable comes in right where the access slot is. Anyone have a diagram of the rear brakes so I can figure out how to get at that adjuster. Is there a way to hold the spring and spin the wheel? Also.. the brakeline seems to be leaking just beyond some actuator. there are two stainless steel sections of line here and one is leaking. Is this a factory set up? Please help. |

Re: 98 voyger - location of brake adjuster
Check this site for star wheel location
http://www.autozone.com/shopping/rep...00c1528003c858 Been sometime since doing this but I used a screwdriver to hold the star adjuster plate that holds the adjuster from loosening away from the star wheel and turned adjuster with a brake tool or another screwdriver. Can you post a picture of where brakeline is leaking? Could be off of ABS or proportioning valve? Hope this helps |

Re: 98 voyger - location of brake adjuster
Thanks. I took a look at the autozone page.. what would be really helpfull is a blow up or diagram of the brake drum, where I can see the star. It looks from the picture like I should be able to just put in a small screwdriver and push the spring, and with a second driver or brake tool, move the wheel but when I get in there the emergency cable runs right infront of the slot? the emergency cable seems to have a spiral casing in it. I guess I need to know.. is the star just under that, and do I need to be closer to the front or back of the vehicle through that slot... thanks for the help.
BTW the Brakeline which is leaking just behind some type of actuator, basically under the feet of the driver. Two lines seem to have a compression fitting with a portion of stainless steel line it is at this fitting that is leaking. The lines further back are really clean, but the ones of the actuator are in really rough shape. I'll try to get a picture. |
