Welcome Aboard!

If you think the cap and rotor are intact, check the coil and secondary wires. If you suspect the cap has broken down already (not uncommon with aftermarket caps) you can meg between the various terminals to check for leakage.

Re: 97 astro van engine code po 300

mrfixit44 - I had a simular problem about a week ago (same 300 code) and left my 99 Astro parked all week without checking... Go to start it today and no start... What I found right off the bat is that I have spark shooting down the coil wire right at the coil connection. I swapped wires and same exact problem. I then pulled the wire off the coil and the spark was going crazy on the top/side (spout?) of the coil... I expect my coil is bad... My problem is that I'm not sure what caused this?????
