Headlight switch problems?

I never noticed this before so it must be something new. when the headlight switch is turned to the "P" position, its supposed to turn the parking lights on only. for some reason, its raising the headlights at the same time yet keeps them turned off. Is this correct because im almost positive that it didnt raise the lights until the switch was all the way to the right in the headlight position?

thank you

Re: Headlight switch problems?

Sounds like a problem to me. Mine doesn't go up till the switch is all the way to the right. The headlights will stay up if you move from the full right position to the P position and the lights will go out. This is helpful in cleaning the lights. When I bought my car the lights were so covered with bugs it's surprising you could drive at night. Something the previous owner never thought of when washing the car.

i have 2 1992 birds. one of them has the same problem. i was told that it could be the switch itself. worth looking into.
