Re: 2001 S10 blazer
It pumps air into the exhaust on start up to keep emissions low in initial startup when there is more fuel in the engine causing the exhaust to run rich. Usual causes are air in air pump, solenoid malfunction, or loss of power to pump solenoid. Pinched, loose, cracked, or broken hoses can also cause this code. If you follow the hose from the secondary air pump you will find a hose that leads to the exhaust. There is a valve connected to it called the secondary air check valve. It gets gummed up after about 4 yrs. They were about $40 each. easy fix but be careful taking them off. going to need two wrenches.

As the code says is it a secondary air injection system malfunction. Fuses and wiring and vacuum hoses should be checked first thing. The S-10 forum How to contains the Blazer and S-10 how to links. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=564664
